Help protect Michigan patients from arrest with the click of a button
Want to quickly and easily let your fellow voters know about Proposal 1?
Below every entry on this site – including news stories, blog posts, and TV ads – you’ll find a button that says “ShareThis.” This extremely useful tool enables you to cross-post entries you enjoy or think should have a wider readership across virtually the entire spectrum of social networking sites with the click of a button.
This might seem trivial, but it’s actually crucial in these last weeks of the campaign. We need to let as many people as possible know about the upcoming vote, generate donations to keep our ads on the air, and motivate our base to come out on November 4.
Do you have a Facebook page? And do you like one of our new ads? Simply click on “ShareThis,” then “Post,” and then “Facebook.” This Web tool will automatically cross-post the link to the ad on your page. Same goes for MySpace, LiveJournal, and most standard blog templates like Wordpress, Blogger, and TypePad.
Do you use Digg? And do you agree that the latest newspaper endorsement is something Digg readers should know about it? Again, click “ShareThis” beneath the story itself, select Digg, and you’re on your way to spreading the word.
There are numerous options, but each one of them is ridiculously simple. Give it a try! We need all supporters across Michigan and the country to know what’s going on with this movement to pass a compassionate medical marijuana law ... and it starts with you!

I am a newspaper reporter writing a story today about the conundrum facing patients with a legal use law but no legal way to obtain it.
Would you (or anyone else who reads this) be willing to talk with me on the phone using first-name only about this issue? If so please contact me today before 2;30 p.m. (dec 11) at 810-766-6311. You can also email me your comments.

The Three Key Steps to Setting an Appointment
If you are a NEW PATIENT, in order to schedule an appointment (FIRST YOU MUST HAVE:)
* CHART NOTES (The notes your doctor keeps in your medical file.) The records need to be current within the past three years & must pertain to your qualifying condition. We only need chart notes from 2-3 recent visits on your condition. These can be UP TO three years old. For example, if you saw the doctor in September of 2006, those records could be used until September of 2009. Please do not send older documents unless requested.
Any recent MRI or x-ray REPORTS (not required, but desirable if applicable). Please don't send the film, just the report.
Please BE SURE to clarify with the doctor's office that you only need 2-3 visits of chart notes pertaining to your qualifying condition, NOT your entire medical record. We love trees and don't want to kill any more than necessary. Also ask your doctor's office to include your phone # with the fax.
Wait for several days for us to review your records and contact you. If you don't hear from us after that time, contact us by phone: 1-800-723-0188
I have a few questions which
I have a few questions which are not covered under the legislation's text.
1.) Will the FED be given the list of those who have applied and are denied ?
2.) How does this new legal right square with RENTAL PROPERTIES ? If a person rents an apartment or house and is allowed to grow their own according to this law, what happens if their Rental agent doesn't agree with their right and feels compelled to reveal this information to the Federal Gov ? It is their right, being landowners to comply with Federal law as well as State law.
3.) The issue of the ability to AFFORD to grow your own in compliance with the structure of this new law must be addressed. The Law states the Marijuana must be grown and stored in a locked environment aka a ROOM. Myself, living below poverty, I can not afford the $1,000's of dollars for proper lighting equipment and added Energy costs.
I could afford to comply if I were allowed to utilize the soil in my garden and the Sunlight from above.
If patients such as myself who do get approved yet can not afford it, are not being served justly.
Is it possible we might start a donation campaign to help those who can not afford to buy this equipment?
I know there would be legal complications but, I really would prefer to grow my plants under the sun, in soil.
I would certainly appreciate if someone knowledgeable could offer some answers. I have tried e-mailing with no response to date.

I wonder what set-up will be
I wonder what set-up will be available for having dispensaries to actually convince the police we can take it off the streets. To not have this ability somehow involved the petition will not succeed in helping those patients that need their medicinal marijuana. Also this would make available the ability to start to buy inhalor versions of cannibinoids for helping their symptoms of different diseases with less consequence to the patients health. These are offered by Bayer Corp.
I used to smoke
I used to smoke recreationally when I was in my late teens. I quit for over 23 years. The reason I went back is my spine is deteriotating and I have had 3 major back surgeries in which metal was chisled out. It left me with metal fragments and shavings that can't ever come out of my nerves, tissue and spine. I must take many pain meds in order to cope with the pain. After trying many different meds and treatments the only thing that helps with the nerve pain is marijauna. I didn't ever plan to smoke it again, but now I CAN'T SURVIVE WITHOUT IT. My life would be never leaving my bed without it , at least now I can have somewhat of a life. I don't want to be an illegal person because I use it to help with chronic pain.
Hello Lynne, I am in a
Hello Lynne, I am in a similar situation. I too am in constant pain and must take heavy narcotics. The pain meds always make me sick, I nod off and sit around the house in a drug-induced stupor. Being able to smoke has allowed me to not get sick after taking my meds, I also am able to extend the time between taking them especially in situations such as going grocery shopping. I think the best description I can give regarding the use of Marijuana is that it allows me to participate in life.
Take care and good luck
